Located in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, on the “Cider Route”, near the village of Cambremer, the reception is open all year round in the cellar of the Manoir de Grandouet. The terroir and the climate make it a privileged site for cider products.

At the foot of the small church of Grandouet (12th century), the half-timbered press from the 16th century shelters more than a hundred years ago. It has belonged to the Grandval family since 1856. Grandfather Yvon undertook the reconstruction of the manor and developed cider production from the years 1945. François, the father continued this development and still deals with distillation and aging calvados. Today, Stéphane the son and his wife Lucile, perpetuate this know-how. In this typical Pays d’Auge farm dedicated to AOC / AOP from apple and milk, production is now converted to organic farming. All the products are made with cider apples from the farm, around 25 varieties, and aged in half-timbered cellars with the aim of continuously improving the taste quality of the products. Pays d’Auge PDO Ciders are rich in color and nuance. They combine a fruity roundness with a touch of bitterness. The Pommeau de Normandie is aged in oak barrels where it takes on a beautiful amber color. Developed with an ironing still, the Calvados AOC Pays d’Auge are aged and aged in accordance with tradition. Apple juice and perry also prepared with farm fruits complete the range. All products are sold directly in the cellar. It is also possible to buy PDO cheeses from Normandy (Pont-L’Eveque, Livarot and Camembert from Normandy). The tasting is free, the welcome is family friendly. A video presenting the harvesting, processing and distillation work accompanies the visit.
